Nov 20, 2017

This week was good though. I'm not going to write a general email because don't have much time but I think you'll want to
know what happened. We have been working hard though. This area is pretty hard and we have been talking to alot of
people but not having lots of sucsess. We have been trying different ways to try to find people. We got a list of people who haven't been to church in a long time and started to visit these people too. To our surprise we have been finding that these people are really receptive and like the missionarys and also have lots of people.. be it kids or got married that haven't ever heard about the Gospel. I think it is super cool. I am excited to see what will happen this week because we will teach a few families.
Other than that not much.

Time is passing by fast it's crazy!! I am excited to see you guys!!!

Love you mom!!! Have a great week!!

Whoo Monday!

I just really love Mondays because as a missionary you work everyday so hard. Even Saturdays and Sundays. Saturday and Sunday here is just a huge party and nobody does anything but then Monday everyone has to go back to work. But not me I get to enjoy my P-day.

This week was great! We had a miracle happen. I am certain that the Lord has seen the effort we are putting in and he is rewarding us. We worked so hard this week, talked to everyone we could did everything, but we didnt have anyone that wanted to go to church with us. Saturday night at 8:40, only Twenty minutes before we had to be home we decided to pass by an investigator one last time that we had only taught one time to see if she was home. When we passed by, her and her son had just barley arrived home. She said she was thinking about our message during the week and wanted to go to church. So Sunday her and her son were there and they loved it. WHOO!
We will continue to work with them towards baptism!

Hope everyone has a great week!!

Gomes de Matos

Nov 6, 2017

It's Monday!

I haven't done email on Monday in a long time. So fun. Hope everyone had a great Sunday and is having a great Monday to start the week. This week has been great it has really gone by so fast.
Didn't have much time last week. But for those who didn't know I'm here in an area called Gomes de Matos with my comp. that I am training Elder Ferreira. He is from Minas Gerais in Brasil.
It has been good to be back in the field. A lot different from the office.

This week I talked to so many people. It is crazy. Since we have gotten here we have just been talking to everyone. We have a few investigators but none of them are really progressing that
much so we are on the hunt. This area is kind of wierd because it has a super ghetto part where there is a ton of people as passing by sitting in the road doing crazy things and a super rich part where nobody even opens their doors. You'll be in the ghetto but then you'll walk two or three blocks over and nobody will be there.

I've really seen the hand of the Lord in the work. It has been hard but I know it would be impossible without him.

Love you all!!!

HI MOM

Oct. 30, 2017

Hi MOM!!!! I forgot that it was halloween! So fun!! This week sure was crazy!! It is a lot diffrent to be here out in the field, but is really good. I am in a area called Gomes de Matos. If you go into google maps you can put in the word MONTESE and that is the neighborhood I live in.
It is literally right next to the airport. haha I think president wanted to play a joke on me or something. I'ts fine though I can just see planes flying over all the time. My comps. name is Elder Ferreira he is a Brazilian from Minas Gerais more down South. He will be a good comp. for this transfer. I am actually training him. He already has 6 weeks in the mission but the first 12 weeks you get trained. It is actually kind of wierd because Elder Soper my last companion did the first 6 weeks of his training. We were together so long then he went and trained him and now I am. Elder Soper went home. Super wierd we were really good friends here in the mission. He was really one of the kids that made the mission a lot easier we had a lot of good times together. He will be going to BYUI too which will be fun! Our family is going to need to get together with his family some day thay seem like awesome people.

This week was pretty hard im not going to lie. It was a lot different. I was in the office for so long I almost forgot a little how the field was. I feel like I got to the mission again but now I just know portuguese and a lot of other things I didn't know. The change was just a little hard because we showed up in an area both new. Normally just one Elder Gets transfered at a time so somebody knows the area the members the investigators... but no. We had to walk quite a bit to get orientated. There is no investigators here either so we are starting from scratch. It has been pretty hot too. This time of year is about the hottest. I've been using a lot of sun screen in the hot sun.

Sounds like fun! Hope everyone has a very Happy halloween!!!

Sure do love you a lot mom! Sorry I didn't get to write a ton. I didn't send a group email just to you because you are the best! Have a great week.

Oct. 21, 2017

Bom dia todos,

This week was great! So I have also officially been in my area for a year!
Last Wednesday I did one year in the area and my Comp. Elder Kroon did
one year in the mission. I got to this area when he left to go to the MTC haha!
Seems super weird to me how fast this year has gone! It's also going to be transfers
next week so I am a little nervous but super excited. I could go anywhere in the mission!!

This week I really saw the hand of the Lord in the work many times. He really guides his
children and cares and watches for them. It always seems like right when you are leaving the area
you see a ton of things happening and all the miracles. We have been working with some few less active members this week and trying to find families. This week as we were teaching a man that has
really struggled and came to an all time low, asked if I could give him a Priesthood blessing. He is a less active and we found him right when he was needing help. It was a very neat experience. I could feel the love that God has for each one of his children. How much he loved that man that had been struggling so much. It doesn't matter how far out we are or what we have done but God continues to love us. It's not an excuse for sin but he wants us back with him he wants us on his side. God cares and is always there waiting for us to return to him. What an awesome thing right??? The Gospel is awesome!

Also a funny story for the week... So me and my comp. Elder Kroon have to take all the calls about the medical stuff because Sister Chamberlain is still learning Portuguese. As you can imagine sometimes we get some funny calls. The Brazilians are usually the funny ones that freak out a little more, don't know why but that's just how they are. So Elder Kroon got a call this week with an Elder freakin out. He said... "ahhhh Elder Kroon my stomach is hurting!! really hurting!! Like you know it's that type of feeling you get when your hungry and you can't feel your legs!!"  Elder Kroon just didn't know what to say, he just said "Oh ya I know exactly what your talking about.. let me just talk to Sister Chamberlain and call you back in a minute." haha Just the funny things Brazilians say!!

Anywho hope all ya are A-OK!!!

Love you all!!

This week was super great!

I keep thinking it is Tuesday or Wendsday but it is already Saturday. What the heck! Yesterday I was thinking... wow I'm not going to have enough money for food the rest of the week because it is only Tuesday but then I remembered it was Friday!! haha This week went by so fast! I would say the highlight of the week was a visit we had in the mission. This week Elder Marcos A. Aidukaitis from the 70 visited our mission. It was a great experience to be and learn with him. Being here in the office was also cool because we had about an hour and a half to just sit down with him and talk about the mission, what was happening and what we can do better. One of the things I learned the most was about Faith. Something I always love learning and talking about. We can not do anything without faith. We need faith to do anything. Miracles have never happened without first by faith. If you want to study a great chapter I recommend reading Ether 12 in the Book of Mormon.

Other than that we are just working really hard. I always love the chance to get out and work, there is nothing better!!

Love you all! Hope everyone is loving life! Always remember to be happy and just love life!!

Have a
 ótimo week!! :)

WEEK

October 7, 2017

This week was great!!

Passed by super duper fast but it was great!!
The highlight of the week for me was probably conference!!
I thought it was just awesome!! Was so cool to be able to hear from
all the apostles. Something I really loved that talked about a lot was
our eternal home. We are here to learn and grown on journey through life
to return home to live with our Father in heaven. I feel like sometimes in life we get
so caught up in everything that we do, that we forget the important things in life
for little unimportant things. Things that in reality, don't even matter.

This week was great other wise just wanted to leave a thought because I
don't have much time but love you all!!

Have a great week!!

Conferencia Geral

Sept 30, 2017

Hello good morning!

Today is a new Saturday! Wow Crazy!! Oh and its 11:11 right now so make a wish!

Today and tomorrow will be super cool I am really excited! It will be conference! I hope everyone will be watching to learn a little more. I always love this time of year and this chance that we have. I feel it is such a proof of the great love God has for each and one of his children. The chance that we have to hear from his Prophets and apostles. God literally speaks through them and gives us the chance to receive revaluation and answers to question that we might be seeking. Hope all you guys can watch because it will be awesome!!

This week sure was great! It passed by super quick holy cow! In the morning is October with is a little weird to me, but oh well I am excited! It was a pretty normal week in the mission office with not any huge surprises but my comp is doing great! Elder Kroon is really cool I like him a lot. He is learning everything that he needs to know so I will be headed back in to the field here shortly!!

Hope everyone has a great week!!

It's Spring!!

September 23, 2017

Well it isn't a lie.
Yesterday was the first day of spring. I feel like it is just kind of wrong to have spring in September but I guess that's how they like to do that down here.

This week was a super adventure. It started off on Monday and Tuesday with a little trip.
I got to go to Canindé and Crateús with Elder L. Santos the housing Secretary. We had to move some stuff from a house that we had to close in Canindé to a new place in Crateús. We woke up super early Monday morning and headed out. It was really fun being the first road trip that I done in almost 2 years. Crateús is a really cool place. They only have a little group there, but it is growing really fast. We had the chance to meet some of the members there. It was an awesome experience.

Yesterday was also insane, we had to stay in the office until 12:00 at night! I have never had to be at the office that late. It was so weird! Today we also got to go to the airport again so we´have driven around Fortaleza quite a bit today.

The best part about this week is that we have a Baptism today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAYYAYAYAY
We are so excited! Her name is Fabula but I think it would be cooler if her name was FABULOUS.
It has been such a cool experience getting to teach her this last week. I am pretty sure she has been the person most ready to join the church that I have ever met. We have known her for a long time because of the fact that she comes to church every Sunday. The reason she couldn't get Baptized is because she lived a long ways away but only passed here on the weekends. We were just sitting in church last week and her and her husband came up to us and where like "guess what"?? I started throwing wild guesses at what she wanted me to say but just couldn't get it. Then they told us they moved here so that was so cool. She was like I WANT TO GET BAPTIZED NEXT SATURDAY!

This week sure was great!! Love you guys so much!!!! Have a good one!

Saturday Sept. 16, 2017

Hey folks!

This week has been great we have been so busy!!!
We started a new transfer this week which was crazy! There were lots
and lots of stuff going on in the mission office. We had 11 new missionarys get here
which is pretty exciting. I always love seeing the new missionarys come in.

Now I am companions with Elder Kroon and Elder Hulme. We are in a trio again.
This is the third time I have been in a trio in the mission. I was already comps. with Elder Hulme
but now that Elder Soper left Elder Kroon is here with us. I will be training him here in the mission
office! That means I will only have about 5 more weeks here in the office then I will go back to the field! He is a really cool kid. A good old Idaho boy. He is pretty short but he is pretty strong. I'm pretty sure he could break sombody in two if we ever got into a bad situation. This week we didn't have very much time in the field because of the transfer. We were in the office alot. I am pretty excited for this next Monday because I will be doing something different! I have never had the chance to get out of the city of Fortaleza my whole mission but me and one of the secretarys have to do a move from one city to another and they are super far away from here. I will go to canindé and Crateús. Look them up they are a ways out.

Super grateful for every moment I have to be here in Brasil. It really has been the best experience ever!! Love you all Thanks for all the support!!!!

Dia 7 de Setembro

Sept. 9, 2017

Oi, Bom dia todo mundo!! Como vai??

One more week that just flew on by! How Crazy!! Twas a very fantastic week indeed.

This week was a rush to get everything ready for the new transfer! There has been lots of
things happening here in the office. Transfers will be next week! I am excited this one should be a good one!! This week was also Independence day in Brasil. On the 7th there was literally nobody
around everyone disappeared again. Holidays here are interesting.

This week I have been studying a little about faith. I was reading in Jesus the Christ about faith.
Faith is related to everything that we do. Nothing will happen without faith. We must believe and we must help others believe.

Not much to report but I sure do love all you guys!!

Have a great week!!

Wake Me Up When September Ends

Sept 2, 2017

Well Hello!

Hope everyone is dandy!

Can't even believe it is already September!

This week was great!! Lots of fun things happening.
We started teaching an English class which was fun. We have started telling
everyone we've met in the street about a free english class we would be teaching in the chapel.
People here are crazy to speak english, i'ts pretty funny! When you pass by people they will be like Good Night or good morning. A lot of times people see us and try to start speaking english then we are like we speak portuguese too, then they get all suprised like "WOW! That's so cool!! I didn't know Americans could speak portuguese!" This week was the first so it was only a few members but we are hoping we can find a lot of people this way!

I started reading the Book of Mormon from the start again too! I love reading because every time I can always learn something new. I love the story of Nephi and the Faith that he had. Even when he
was around others that could of easily had an influence over him. He wasn't afraid to do what the Lord asked of him. I feel like life is like that a lot. We have many decisions to make. Sometime we don't know which road to take or why. We might not even know why but with the Lords help we can do everything. When we have faith we can do anything! I know that for myself and it is awesome! Have a little more faith and do what the Lord asks of you! You will never go wrong that way!

Love you all!!

Happy Saturday!

It's already an incredibly hot Saturday morning here in Brasil. I´m down here in the
computer shop sweating my brains out. haha

This week was fun! Lots of things happing like always. It has been fun in a trio,
I think its pretty wierd for people here to just see three super american kids walking
down in the getto of Brasil. This week we were able to have a lot of success finding more
people we can teach. This week I feel like I really focused talking about Christ with every single
person I talked too. We found lots more people to teach. Right now we don't have any super stable
investigators but we have been teaching a lot of new people.

So happy to be down here in Brasil. Sorry not much this week don't have much time but I love you all!! Have a great week!

Bom Dia!

August 19, 2017

These days keep on passing by faster and faster I can´t
figure out why. I sure hope life isn't like this because 'ill die
before long if it passes by this fast.

This week has been great lot of new things happing on this side of town.
We now have 7 people living in our house so you can imagine it is pretty
full. The assistants were at our house all week too so that was 9! It
almost
feels like a boy scout campout with this many kids. I also have a new comp.
we are in a trio now. Me Elder Soper and Elder Hulme. Elder Soper will be
training him to be the next secratary. He is also from Utah, which is fun!

This week I have been studying alot in Alma. Some of my favorite chapters
in the Book of Mormon are in Alma. It is really crazy how clear the
Book of Mormon is. I feel like whenever I have a question or I am searching
for
something I can read and it will be answered. As I read everyday I know
more
and more how true it is. Every time I read I learn something new. You can
feel
the love the Savior has for each and every one of his children. He wants us
to
return to Him and he gave us things to help us do that. One of those things
is the
Book of Mormon. I really know reading the scriptures everyday has changed
my life.
Hope all you guys can do the same!

Love you all and hope everyone is doing great!

Minha semana

August 12, 2017

Hey guys! Wassupp!

Hope everyone is doing awesome!!

This week was great, and lots of things going on like always!!!

Being P-day we will be having our basketball game America vs Brasil.
With new Brasilians in our house we like to play America vs Brasil. They
think they can win but they don't know what they have coming for them.
haha Go America!

This week was great. We had a leadership counsel this week with all the
zone leaders. That morning I picked out a tie I liked alot. I was pretty sure that nobody
else had one just like it. When I showed up there were literally two missionarys
with the same exact tie as me.. I was like no way I need to go change. Turns out
that my tie wasn't so special. haha But I sat next to them so it looked like we planned it at
least.

I don't know why, but this week I have been thinking alot about Faith. It is something that seems
really simple but it does so much for us. President also talked a little about faith in Jesus Christ
and how we need to have more. With faith we can do anything expecally faith in Christ. I have seen
it so many times in the mission. When somebody has just the smallest amount of faith it is enough.
I love the 32 chapter of Alma. I encourage you to read if if you haven't. He talkes alot about faith.
When we have faith we also have hope. Hope in things better to come. I've found that. When I really put my faith in Christ I've found out that whatever happens it all works out. Doesn't matter how hard your day is or what you are struggling with but when your turn to Christ with faith he will be there
to guide you through anything. I've learned that and I know that.

Love you all! Have a fantabulous week!!

Estou Aqui

August 5, 2017

Hey! It's August! It's August! What?

I can't believe its already August! Time flys.
I can remember a year ago in the mission and it feels like
yesterday! It's so crazy! This week has been of crazy one
of course but what would the mission be if it wasn't.

Transfers were this week so that kept us busy for sure! It
was great though! Everything worked out. Me and Elder Soper
are here ready to destroy! This will be  great transfer!

This week I was helping a lot of sick missionarys with their
problems haha. I'm turning into a doctor too. Sister Chamberlain
doesn't quite speak portuguese yet so I have to take care of a lot
of the calls and tell the missionarys what to do. I'm learning a lot
though! When it comes to sicknesses and medicine in Portuguese
it gets pretty complicated sometimes I'm just like well ya I don't know
anything you just said explane it easier haha.

I know the Lord has been helping me alot this last little while. Just
when you get comfortable doing something he always seems to just give
you another job to do. It's not always easiest or in my comfort zone but
he is teaching me. I know with everything he does he has a purpose.
He never gives me anything I can't do and I know that He is always there
to help. That's why I love Him. He's my best friend.

Hope you guys are loving life! That's the purpose! So if not, just love it!

Have a great week!

This week was great!

This e-mail won't be super long.. but whatever.

This week was the last week of the transfer. So next week will start a
new transfer. It has been really crazy lately with all the things happening.
We didn't even have that much time this past week. We only got a few
hours in our area. Vladiana and Françivaldo are still in the process of
trying to get married. We past there one time this week and they are getting
what they need to get done to get married. Also they have been reading
the Book Of Mormon together which is super good! Pray that everything
will work out for them!

I've been great! Me and Elder Soper joke that we are eternal companions
but it's been such a good time being with him. We have become really close
as comps. I think we might even have a little more time together! Maybe we will set a
record!

Love you all have a great week!!

Mud Puddles

July 22, 2017

Hey y´all! Howdy doo?

This week was super busy! We spent alot of time in the mission office
which was a little bit of a bummer because we didn't have a ton of time in
our area but it's ok we did have a huge miracle happen this week.

We have been teaching this women for a super long time but she can't
get baptized because she is not married. Ever since I got here in the
area she has been going to church she was even going before I got here.
She's been going for about a year and a half. We haven't passed there
for a while because she hasn't been able to get married. We have tried
so many times and tried to do so many different things but she hasn't been
able to for some weird document she doesn't have. Then Sunday she showed
up at church again. This time with her husband. I've never seen him there.
We always talk to him about coming but he never comes. After church we went
to their house and talked to them about marraige again. They said they really want
to get married and they'll do anything to do it. The best part is that last week we
found a place that all the missionarys are going to help people get married because
you don't need that document! So now they can get married!! YAY!!

This week I also went on many adventures with Sister Chamberlain! (The missions
president wife) She is in charge of the health of all the missionarys and taking care of all of them.
What a huge resposability! Lately I have been helping her alot because she is still learning
portuguese. She is literally the nicest person on the face of the planet.
So yesterday we went on an adventure all the way to Caucia. It's a little city more on the edge
of Fortaleza. It was raining all morning so everthing was wet and the farther you get out of the city the worst the roads are. haha! We made it there fine, did what we needed to and left some things for the Elders at their house. We got in the car to go back and Sister Chamberlain went to do a little u-turn in the road, pulled up on the bank and we sunk into the mud.. haha it was so funny. She was like oh no I'm so sorry elders now what do we do? Me and Elder J. Flores got out and tried to push but nothing happen. We were stuck. Luckly all the Brazilians are like the coolest people in the world and they came out to help. Some guy came out to help us but he didn't really know what he was doing. Then some random crazy guy riding by on a bike just rode up, threw his bike down and started giving commands. He was like Hey give me that shovel and just started going crazy digging. Then he was like we need some wood. He ran around the corner and came back with some wood he fond in the road and stuck it under the tires. At this point we were almost out but we needed a little more help. There were some people walking by in nice clothes and he was just like.. HEY YOU GUYS GET OVER HERE RIGHT NOW AND PUSH THIS CAR OUT! He didn't even asked he just comanded it was hilarious. Then we pushed the car out! YAY
Just as fast as he showed up he jumped on his bike and left, haha People here are so funny!
Got to love them.

Was a great week here!! Hope all you guys have a good one too!

Love you all!!

Hello my people!

I hope everyone is having a fantabulous day! Also hope everyone had
a wonderful week too!

Was a great week down here in Brasil! We have been working alot
this week lots of stuff to do in the mission office with our new President.
Yesterday we didn't even get to go to our area and do prosalyting
which was a bummer:/

I want to share a few things I learned this week since we didn't have a lot
of time in the area. One thing I got to take part of was a training the assitents
gave to the Zone Leaders. What I took out of it was how we always need
to be evaluating everything that we do. Is it good? Is it bad? How could
it be better? Everyday we need to stop take a few min. and think about
what we are doing. I have always loved doing this but I know I could still
be better. I remember one thing President Bonini would say was, You guys
are very good but you can be better. There is always something
we can do better there is always something we can learn. It doesn't matter
how smart we are or how good we are but we can get better. Something
I'm always trying to do be better. Better everyday. That's what I love about
the Atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ. He gives us that chance.
Everyday we can be better.

Love you guys so much!!!

I wanna know wha'ts goin on! Don't be afraid to send an email and pics! :)

Hey everyone!

Hope everyone had the best week ever! I hear it's pretty
hot down there in Utah!

This week has been great and flown by really quick! I felt like I
was living the same day 4 times this week it was a little wierd.
We had conference with our new President, President Chamberlain.
The way they divided it up was two zones every day so I got to go
to conference 4 times this week. President is very good. I have already got
the chance to talk to him alot and also his wife Sister Chamberlain.
They are great people! I'm excited!

This week me and Elder Soper didn't get a ton of time in the area but
we work hard when we do. Any little time we get we were working.

It's crazy how fast time passes. I'm so grateful to be here in the work of
the Lord! There really is nothing better!!

Novo Presidente

July 1, 2017

Hey guys!

This week sure has been crazy!!
This week we got our new mission President. He actually got here yesterday night!
We got to meet him and talk to him and his wife a little bit. They seem like awesome
people. I am excited to get to know them. Today we also had a little meeting with him
and talked a little about the mission.

Getting ready this week was crazy. We had lots to do but everything worked out great.
We had a zone conference Tuesday it was the last one with President and Sister Bonini.
They have really been such good examples to me. I have had the chance to learn so much
with them. I have really learned so much about obedience and how important it is. I've learned
so much about the love that the Lord has for every single one of us. It has been a great
privilege to have been able to work with them. Now it's President and Sister Chamberlain!
I'm excited to work and learn with them! ´

Love you all!!

This week was great! Always busy for sure. We had transfers this week!
I already knew I was staying in the area but this will be one more down here
in Tauape! This is my 7th transfer in the area! haha crazy! It's also my 7th with
my comp. Elder Soper! I think we must be breaking records!

This week is the week of São João here in Brazil. It's really celebrated here in the north east part of Brazil! It's a really cool tradicional holiday! Everyone dresses up like cowboys
or farmers from the older days and they have fun music and dancing kind of like a
Brazilian square dancing you could say, and eat alot of corn. We have seen people
practicing for a couple weeks now out in the street at night but today is the official holiday!

This week we have been working as hard as ever. I always love being here!!
This week I have been relistening to a couple conference talks from this last
General Conference we had. One thing I really loved was a quote from Elder Stevenson.
He was talking about the Holy Ghost and why it is so important in our lives. One thing
he said was "Stay close to the Spirit and it will stay close to you." So simple.
We always need to be living in a way that the Spirit can guide us in our lives. When
we do what's right and do what we can to stay close the Spirit will stay with us.
It's a promise.

Love you all! Have a great week!

I think this last transfer was the fastest six weeks of my life.
I think somebody is making all the clocks go faster and faster.

This last week was great! It passed by so fast! Holy cow!
It was the last week of the transfer so next week we will
be starting a new one. These next few weeks will be super
crazy because we will be getting our new mission President,
President Chamberlain.

This week was super great too! Me and Elder Soper have
been working really hard and the Lord has been blessing
us. We have been able to find some new investigators
this week. We have been working hard to help them
progress too.

This week I have been continuing to read in Alma!
I think the stories are the best and such a great example to me.
Today I was also reading in "Jesus the Christ" about a few parables
that the Savior taught. So interesting. Stories that are so simple
but we must read with an open heart to understand what is being taught.
As a missionary there is a lot of things to be learned.

So grateful to be here every day learning and growing and help others do
the same!!

Love you all!

Felicidade no Brazil

June 10, 2017

Hey peeps happy Saturday!

This week was great and full of many adventures!
Always hard work here in Brasil! We have been
working hard to be able to find investigators this week.
Not much happened with João Paulo (the investigator
I mentioned last week) but he wants to know which
path he should take. This week we really challenged him
to read the Book Of Mormon and ponder and pray about
it.

Yesterday I got out of the mission office a little bit and
went with Elder J. Flores on a little adventure. We had to
go look at a new house that the missionarys will be living in
and had other things to do too. We went all the way to
Caucia a (Little) city that is right on the border of
Fortaleza. We passed just about through all of Fortaleza
yesterday. I was thinking a little about all that I have.
Even here in Brasil when people are so poor and
struggling you can still fall in to the routine and forget
all the blessings you have. It just seems normal to you
after time. It's crazy how fast we can take things for granted.
I'm really so gratefull for all the blessings I have and the Gospel
in my life and all the difference it has made. I'm grateful for my Savior!
Life is really so full of happiness and joy when we live in the right way!

Have a great week!

Hey people!

Just wanted to wish you guys a very happy Saturday!
This week was great down here in South America! Can't
believe that it is already June! I'm almost 20!!! Crazy!!

This week me and Elder Soper had a couple cool experiences!
We got a reference from a missionary in another area. He called
us and said there was somebody that visted their ward on Sunday
but he lived in our area. We called him and marked an appointment.
His name is João we talked to him a little and he told us about his life.
He had a friend that lived in the other ward and he has always know a little
about the church but never was interested enough to visit until now.
This past year his dad passed away and also his Grandma. Two people
that he loved the most. On Tuesday we taught him about the Restoration
on how we have the church of Jesus Christ with us on the earth today. It
was a really good lesson. We invited him to pray and left.
Yesterday we showed up at his house to teach him again. Me and Elder Soper
prepared a lesson really special about the Plan of Salvation and how families
could be together forever. When we got there we was just leaving and he saw us.
He said danger I can't believe I forgot I marked with you guys but he let us in.
He had lots of questions about lots of different things so we didn't really have time to
teach we mostly were just there to answer questions. He said something really cool
though he said the night we came into his house he felt something different but he
didn't know what it was. He said when we were teaching him he kept looking to his side
because he thought his family was there with him. He said he could feel they were beside
him. That was pretty cool. The night we came he said he also had a dream that his dad
came to him and gave him some council. His dad told him he needed to go and end the
relationship he has been having with his girlfriend. That's were he was going when we showed up
at his house. We had the chance to explain why and that there were some commandments
he needed to keep to get baptized and that was one he was breaking. It was a really cool
experience. So cool to see that the Lord is preparing people long before you even know.

The Lord has a plan for everything! Not just a Plan but a perfect plan!

Love you all! Have a great week!!

Hey fam! Always feel like I never know how to start my
letters. The week passes so fast that I feel like I didn't
even have time to think inbetween writing one and
another! This week was great! Always lots of things
happening! I went to the airport again today! I almost
didn't believe it when Sister Bonini told me I had to go there
again. I think they like to just joke around with me. They wait till
Friday every week and then they're like haha lets call Elder Orton!
It's great though! Don't mind going on a little field trip every p-day!

One funny thing that happened this week was when me and Elder J.
Flores went to the market in the city center to get some supplies
for the mission office. We walked all around just to find this velvet
stuff to make a board for the mission office. But when we were on the
way back two dudes got on the bus and the guy that you have to pay
to get on was like GET OFF! HEY YOU TWO GET OFF!!! One guy got
off and the other one was like no nananaa.. complaning. Then the guy that takes
the money got up out of his chair and was ready to fight this guy on the bus.
He got off the bus but then these two dudes were chasing the bus down the road.
Everyone on the bus had eyes the size of watermelons! haha. Me and Elder J. Flores
thought we would turn a corner and all their hobbo friends would be there and take over the bus! haha. Was pretty funny though! Only things like this happen here and it's like every day! haha

Me and Elder Soper are here in Tauape (our area) working as hard as ever.
We have really been working on our planing and perfecting everything we do
These past confrences we have had with President, he has really focused on planning and
how we need to do it. Not just as missionarys but all of us need plans. President is really
great. Everything he says is really direct and true. He has been part of the military and a firefighter so one thing he talkes about is simply just work. There is no better solution! If we want something to happen we got to work. It's as simple as that! We can plan, we can think, we can do everything even to the point of praying but nothing will happen until we work. We got to put in our effert and God will do the rest when we have done all that we can! That's why the Gospel
is so great and also as a missionary! When I've done all that I can, I can rely on God
and he will do the rest! And I know he will, he always has! What a great thing the Gospel is
so simple so true!

It's great down here in Brasil!! Hope everyone is having a great day, week, month, or year..
whatever it may be let it be great!
